Obzor is a wonderful place to spend your summer vacation!
Quiet, peaceful and with a huge beach, Obzor is definitely a great choice for a summer weekend or even a whole week along the Bulgarian Black Sea. As Obzor is one of the small and lovely Bulgarian resorts, there is a large variety of hotels, holiday rentals and even camping sites. None of these places to stay in Obzor, though, has this magical and unique atmosphere that you will feel at Galeria apart-complex!
Here are some of the reasons why I would recommend choosing Galeria vacation rentals for your summer holiday in Bulgaria:
Table of Contents
1. The Gardens <3
The lavender, the hydrangeas and the cypress trees are just a tiny piece of the beauties that you can enjoy in apart-complex Galeria. The huge ivy arches and the greenery all around the resort are definitely something that none of the hotels in Obzor can boast about. These heavenly gardens were exactly what I personally liked the most about the complex. They are unique! You can’t see many of those around the Black Sea coast resorts.
The beautiful flowers and trees can give you a pretty good idea of where the human kind should be rightfully living. Galeria will make you stop being angry with Adam, Eve and that ridiculous snake who made them eat that apple.
2. The Serenity
In this small Bulgarian town you will often hear pretty loud music from the beaches (except maybe in the very late night hours). If you decide on a hotel situated on the waterfront, you can be unpleasantly surprised by the noise that comes from the beach. In the end of the day you’ll probably want a proper relaxation!
In apart-complex Galeria it is way more peaceful – it is a closed complex after all. In spite of being relatively close to the main road, you will almost certainly not hear any cars from your room. Rental apartments in Obzor are far enough from the beach’s hustle and bustle so you will surely have a quiet time with your family.
Galeria is a lovely recreational spot, where you can easily recharge your batteries!
3. The Facilities
- Gym – resting doesn’t necessarily mean breaking your regime, right? Besides swimming in the pool and going for a morning beach jogging, you can also visit the resort’s gym. It offers a treadmill, exercise bikes, cross trainers and even table tennis!
- Wi-Fi – I often use my mobile internet because of a bad Wi-Fi connection in most of the hotels I have stayed at. Well, I didn’t have any problems when I stayed in Galeria! The connection was truly great. You can stream Netflix or HBO without worrying that the connection will be lost or the quality will be ruined. A good internet connection is always important if you decide to work remotely or join an important online conversation while on vacation.
- Swimming Pool – the pool at apart-complex Galeria is one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen! Pool maintenance is really important, so we can have a worry-free vacation for us and our children.
- Fully Equipped Kitchen – when we travel with our baby, we always look for a fully equipped kitchen (and especially a microwave!) If you choose to stay in one of Obzor’s hotels, you most likely won’t have this convenience. However, you will have everything you’d need to even cook at Galeria.
- Parking – well, you might not even need a car while on vacation at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, but you still might want a car to get there 🙂 Not all of Obzor’s hotels have parking spaces that would be enough for most guests, but at apart-complex Galeria, you won’t need to worry about that. Just don’t forget to ask about a parking post in advance.
- Bistro – the truth is you can’t really find a nice place to eat in Obzor, especially in the center of the city. But don’t worry my food lover friends! The bistro in apart-complex Galeria comes to the rescue! Delicious food, affordable prices and great service will turn you into regular clients of the resort’s bistro throughout your stay. I strongly recommend you try their filled tomato with “katak”! <3 And for breakfast you can have a supernaturally tasty French toast!
- 24-hour security – the resort is of a closed type and not everyone can enter freely. Thе 24-hour security guards grant that you and our kids will be safe and sound – day and night.
- Daily cleaning – let’s be honest…it is pure happiness someone else to clean up your In apart-complex Galeria you will have daily cleaning service, just like in most hotels. In order to be both eco-friendly and with a good hygiene, your towels and sheets will be changed twice a week. In addition, a maid will take your garbage daily!
The only thing I would say is somewhat uncomfortable is the location. The beach is about a 10-15-minute walk away, as is the nearest bigger supermarket. There is, however, a mini-market near the resort where you can find some basic necessities. 🙂 A stroll to the beach can be quite enjoyable, though, and pretty stroller-friendly!
4. The Beach in Obzor
Well, apart-complex Galeria is not right at the beach, but after all, we, Bulgarians, strive to avoid overbuilding at the lovely natural beaches! 🙂
The beach in Obzor is one of the largest along the Black Sea coast – it’s about 8 kilometers long! It’s not too shallow, so you can enjoy the occasional wave, but it’s not too deep for your kids. You’ll find lots of beach bars and bistros and even fun water sports. The prices are average – not as high as in resorts like the Golden Sands, but not too low as in the city (Varna/Burgas). This is the reason for a lot of Bulgarians to choose Obzor as their vacation on the Black Sea.
Top Things to See in Obzor
The Obzor Town Center
Cute fountains and a clock tower is what makes Obzor’s city center shine in the soft and warm afternoon light.
The Pencil Benches
Again located in the very heart of Obzor, your eyes are going to witness a great idea – benches that are made of “pencils”! It looks like they have popped out of an old episode of the “Art Attack” show! I had never seen anything like that and it really impressed me
The Temple of St. John the Baptist in Obzor
Covered with greenery, this temple is about 100 years old! It looks rather different from the typical Bulgarian temple, so do not miss to enjoy this thing to see in Obzor.
The Antic Theatre in Obzor
You will often see some exciting events there, including the World Folklore Championship which is held in Obzor every year 🙂
The Sea Garden in Obzor
It’s a pity that the Sea Garden in Obzor is not what it was a few years ago, when it was last renovated. The fountains do not work, the pond is empty. The park is not very big and I sincerely hope that the city government will take care of it as soon as possible! 🙂
Return a plastic bottle (and water) and take care of a puppy!
One of my favorite things in Obzor is the machine where you can return a plastic bottle and as a result – feed a puppy! Even if you do not have your own animal, this is a great way to support recycling <3 For me this is one of the most important landmarks in Obzor!
The statue of Poseidon
Walking from the city center of Obzor down to the beach, you will come across this curious statue of Poseidon 🙂
The statue of the Roman
The last hidden sight in Obzor is the statue of the Roman. You can find it, walking from the Sea Garden to the city center of Obzor.
Apart-complex Galeria is the best choice for accommodation in the city of Obzor by miles, especially if you are traveling with children. Whether you are looking for relaxation, tranquility, wonderful scenery or delicious food – this is your place! You can book a studio or an apartment with one or two bedrooms directly from the complex’s website or you can e-mail them at galeria@myvacation.bg. For the best prices and deals, it is always better to message the hotel directly than book through booking.com. And My Vacation always has some great deals! 🙂
*Note: My stay at Apart Resort “GALERIA” in Obzor was complimentary. However, all the opinions and observations expressed in this blog post are my own.
